Holidays

I had 2 vacations this month , now how cool is that! Though both were short; nevertheless I had fun! The first trip was to Melaka for a weekend and the second was to KK for 4 days. Melaka was a really short trip, all we did was sleep and eat. We were not even bothered to go shopping because of the hot sun. We took an afternoon nap upon arrival on Saturday and konked out again before midnight. We were already on our way home at about eleven in the morning the next day.

KK's trip was a whole lot of more fun than Melaka! The flight to KK was delay for an hour, not too much of a shocker to us anyway. Air Asia's tagline should be changed to "Now Everyone Can Wait to Fly"! Good thing that the delay didn't dampen our spirit; despite of everything we marched on. However, the delay robbed us an hour of sunshine! It was raining heavily when we arrived at Nexus. All we can do was to stare into the rain and sigh. It was raining till dusk and into the night. Therefore we decided to call it an early night and got up really early the next morning. It was a beautiful day and we walked along the beach before taking a dip in the pool. The sea was too rough to swim. The resort is fantastic but the food wasn't that great and it was expensive. Nevertheless, we had a great time.

From Nexus we moved on to Manukan Island. All four of us shared a chalet with 2 rooms. The chalet was surprisingly good! The whole chalet is wooden and has a very warm feel about it. It felt like home. We didn't waste any time once we put down our luggages, we then changed into swimming suits and picked up our snorkelling gears and head on the the beach! The best thing is you can see fishes, million of them right at the shore! The further you snorkel you can even see some coral. After we had enough of that, we went back to shower and get ready for dinner. Then we witnessed the most amazing sunset! It was soooo romantic. :) It spread all over the horizon and breathtakingly beautiful! The world seem to be free from all evils and problems at that golden moment. All we can do is to take a deep sigh... a sigh of contention. :)

After having dinner we went to lepak at the jetty. It was very breezy and we sat down and talked and watched the fishes. It was good fun and we were trying to be smart pretending that we could recognised the different types of fishes. It was nice that everyone can wind down and relaxed. Of course we went snorkelling again the next morning, in fact we got really early. It was a pretty amazing feeling swimming with the fishes with sun shinning into the water. Foot fed the fishes out from her hand and when the fishes were less intimitated, they even followed her around. We bought an underwater camera and were able to take some decent pictures.

We had to checked out from Manukan Island at 10:30 and went on to KK town. Well KK was basically shopping! We went absolutely crazy buying pearls! The prices are insanely cheap! Comparing to KL's prices that is. We hope the pearls are genuie since we bought them from a friend's recommendation. The morning market was pretty interesting too. Earrings, bracelets, necklaces are basically very affordable.

Before we knew it, it was time to come back! Our prayers have been answered because the flight back wasn't delay. All of us had a good time and most important of all it was a relaxing holiday and a much needed break.

I would go back to KK again. For the pearls and the fishes!

Good on your well enjoyed holiday! Out of curiosity, did you go to Manukan with Foot Foot? Just a thought, since Saffron has both of you in her links.
